The 2006 hit comedy 'Little Miss Sunshine' will become a musical, premiering at the La Jolla Playhouse in February.

Southern California's La Jolla Playhouse will present the world premiere of "Little Miss Sunshine" at the Mandell Weiss Theater next year.

The musical, based on the 2006 pic, features music and lyrics by William Finn, with James Lapine helming. Finn and Lapine had collaborated on the Tony-winning musicals "Falsettos" and "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." Production will run Feb. 15-March 27.

Other shows for the Playhouse's 2010-11 season include "Surf Report," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Notes From Underground" and "Ruined."
