Dygra plans 3D 'Night'

English-language version of Christmas pic in the works

MADRID -- Spanish toon house Dygra Films has signed "Madagascar" screenwriter Billy Frolick to write the English-language version of Dygra's 3D animated Christmas farce "Holy Night!"

Budgeted at $19 million, "Night!" aims to become Spain's newest 3-D toon movie to hit theaters; Dygra plans a theatrical release by year's end.

The family fantasty-adventure pic is set on Christmas night, during which Santa Claus' sleigh disappears and Baby Jesus is kidnapped. Pic, now in production, is helmed by Juan Galinanes. David Munoz and Antonio Trashorras, who penned "Devil's Backbone," wrote the original script.
