Nickelodeon has promoted two execs in its animation programming unit.

Roland Poindexter has been tapped senior VP of animation, current series. He'll oversee the kid cabler's toon lineup and continue to report to animation president Brown Johnson.

Poindexter has played a major role in two of the net's most recent hits, "The Penguins of Madagascar" and "Fanboy and Chum Chum." The latter saw the highest-rated series premiere in Nick history in the kids 2-11 and 6-11 demos.

Also, Rich Magallanes has been upped to VP of animation for current series. He'll oversee the current series staff, serve as exec in charge of core franchises and manage Nick's fellowship program for diversity.

Reporting to Poindexter, Magallanes has been at the net for 13 years and helped launch "SpongeBob SquarePants" and "The Fairly OddParents."
