Spike gets in the ring with 'Half Pints'

Series examines world of little-person wrestling

Spike TV, which has found wrestling to be a good fit with its male-skewing aud, is getting back in the ring with "Half Pint Brawlers."

Half-hour, six-episode series will examine the world of little-person wrestling and its increasing popularity as an underground sport. Participants perform in venues where crowds can reach 5,000.

Net is currently shooting around the country. The Idea Factory and Lumberjack Crew are set to produce.

Cabler also gave a greenlight to half-hour "Scrappers," from Hoosick Falls Prods. Skein lenses in Brooklyn, where participants search for scrap metal and other trash that can be converted into cash.

Ten episodes have been ordered. The two shows will run as a programming block and premiere in June.
