Food Network has given a second-season order for "Alex's Day Off."
Production for season two begins Jan. 11, and the first of 13 new episodes will air in April.
Skein focuses on chef Alexandra Guarnaschelli, who shops for ingredients and then prepares an array of American, French and Italian meals. Guarnaschelli worked at Patina in Los Angeles in 2003 and then became exec chef at Butter restaurant in New York. She has also appeared on the cabler's competition series "Iron Chef."
