Zuiker
CSI" creator Anthony Zuiker has lined up another new project at CBS.
Jax and Amber" is an actioner that centers on two female detectives -- still a rarity in law enforcement on TV, "Cagney and Lacey" notwithstanding. According to the pitch, the duo harbor a unique insight into solving crimes.
Elizabeth Devine, a veteran of all three "CSI" editions, is writing "Jax and Amber" and will exec produce. CBS has given a script order to the drama.
Also onboard as exec producers are Zuiker and Deran Sarafian ("House"), who would direct the project should it go to pilot.
Sarafian's credits also include all three "CSI" series, "Lost," "The Forgotten" and Fox's upcoming "Past Life."
Matthew Weinberg, who heads up Zuiker's Dare to Pass Prods. shingle, will co-exec produce.
CBS TV Studios, where Zuiker signed a two-year, first-look deal this summer, is the studio attached. Zuiker most recently served as showrunner on "CSI: NY."
Zuiker is also developing the script "Cyber Crimes," about a newly formed government agency that fights the modern onslaught of Internet- and technology-driven offenses, at the Eye.
