Westphal has been upped to senior VP of marketing and communications at the company, which produces "American Idol" along with 19 Entertainment for Fox.
Exec, who had served as VP of communications since 2007, will now oversee FremantleMedia's marketing efforts, while continuing to handle the company's trade, consumer, licensing and corporate communications.
Westphal reports to FremantleMedia North America CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz.
Besides "Idol," FremantleMedia is behind NBC's "America's Got Talent"; CBS' "The Price Is Right" and "Let's Make a Deal"; CMT's "Can You Duet"; Comedy Central's "Secret Girlfriend"; and the syndicated "Family Feud." Company also recently began production on a Kirstie Alley project for A&E.
Westphal's experience includes five years at Paramount Domestic TV.
