Indie ensemble drama "Multiple Sarcasms," starring Timothy Hutton, Mira Sorvino, Dana Delany, Mario Van Peebles and Stockard Channing, has been set for theatrical release in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle in March.

"Sarcasms" will expand into additional markets in April and May via Multiple Avenue Releasing. Former marketing exec Brooks Branch, who wrote, directed and produced the pic, established Multiple Avenue Releasing specifically to distribute amid the tough market for indies.

Pic, which also stars Laila Robins and India Ennenga, is set in New York City in 1979 and follows Hutton's character as he takes an unconventional path to shedding his life of convention by writing a play.

Branch is an entertainment branding consultant who's worked with MGM, Target, NBC, Universal, Turner, Discovery Channel and MTV.
