The two-day event, called Rendez-Vous and runs Nov. 15-17, will gather more than 60 TV buyers from various Latin American nets, including Mexico's Televisa, Argentina's Canal Encuentro and Chile's UCTV.
"Mexico represents the ideal gateway for French companies looking to penetrate the Latin American market," said TVFI CEO Mathieu Bejot. "It's a mature market (with) an important TV industry."
Some of the highlights of French shows that will be screened in Mexico include Arte's docu-drama "When the Egyptians Sailed on the Red Sea," Zodiak's drama "Mrs. Mandela" and SND's toon "Little Nick."
"We're seeking to forge new partnerships in Latin America, notably in Mexico and Argentina," said Arte's head of sales Emmanuelle Erbsman, who's set to attend the showcase. "It's a market that had slumbered for a while and is now slowly emerging with newly created channels."
With an annual budget of $6.2 million, the org hosts similar screening marts around the globe, notably in Biarritz, Madrid and Tokyo.
