Kendrick departs DreamWorks

DWA legal eagle flies the coop

DreamWorks Animation general counsel Katherine Kendrick will ankle the animation biz to pursue philanthropic activities when her contract expires in December. Kendrick's decision comes after 14 years with DreamWorks, which she joined in 1996. She helped steer the animation division through its IPO in 2004.

"It has been my great pleasure to work with Kathy for over 20 years, first at Disney and then at DreamWorks, and I appreciate her desire to contribute her considerable talents to the various organizations she feels so strongly about," said DWA topper Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Before following Katzenberg to DreamWorks, Kendrick spent four years as an attorney for Walt Disney Pictures, where she was promoted to VP of legal affairs for the Mouse House's European operations out of Paris.
