Schlosser moves over from NBC Universal Domestic TV Distribution, where he had been senior VP of communications since May 2004.
Exec will continue to handle communication for NBC Universal TV, DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group. He'll now also "assist in media relations, overall strategy, speaking engagements, speechwriting and corporate public relations efforts for the NBC Universal Television Entertainment Group," the network said.
At NBC, he reports to Rebecca Marks, exec VP at NBC Entertainment and NBC U Cable Networks.
"I've worked with Joe for many years now here at NBC Universal and back to his days as a reporter covering our business," Marks said. "He brings a wealth of television experience."
Schlosser first joined the Peacock prior to its merger with Universal, starting as VP of publicity at NBC Enterprises in October 2002. His NBC U tenure has included overseeing publicity for first-run fare such as "Access Hollywood," "Martha Stewart Show" and "Deal or No Deal," among other fare.
Schlosser began his PR career at the Hallmark Channel. Before that, he was the Los Angeles bureau chief of Broadcasting and Cable.
