However, that wasn't enough to bump "2012" from the No. 2 spot. Sony's disaster pic rumbled to a 52% increase for a total of nearly 3.5 million views with only one week until release.
Summit's "Twilight Saga: New Moon" dropped 25% but retained its top spot on the chart due to its record-breaking dominance in past weeks. The total view count is just under 19 million, with only two weeks until release.
Three films are set for release this weekend: Disney's "A Christmas Carol" finished in fifth place with a 91% increase in views for a final tally of 251,672; Universal's "The Fourth Kind" exits at No. 7 with a 16% bump for a total of 192,020 views; and Overture's "The Men Who Stare At Goats" returned to the chart in its last week of eligiblity, finishing at No. 10 with 133,759 views.
Warner Bros' "The Blind Side" made its debut at No. 8. Two weeks from release, the pic generated more than 180,000 views. However, the studio's "Sherlock Holmes" was knocked off the chart after its bow last week.
