Marshall will manage the development and production of the company's growing slate. The appointment is part of an overall ramping up of Scott Free's activities in the U.K. and in Europe.
The company recently completed Jordan Scott's directorial debut "Cracks," starring Eva Green and the Jake Scott-directed "Welcome to the Rileys," starring James Gandolfini and Kristen Stewart.
"At a time of uncertainty in many areas of the business, and in particular in the specialty film sector in the U.S., we believe it is an opportune time to step up our commitment to European filmmaking" said Ridley Scott. "Liza's appointment enables us to offer a real home for creative talent and help them navigate the new business models which will be needed to get films made."
Prior to joining Scott Free, Marshall was responsible for all drama output at Channel 4.
