Pic is the initial project for Formosa Films, Will Tiao's newly formed production and finance company. The feature debut for helmer Adam Kane is the story of an FBI agent who investigates the murder of an Asian professor at a small college and follows the fleeing killers to Taiwan.
James Van Der Beek stars along with Wendy Crewson, John Heard, Tzi Ma, Tiao, Leslie Hope and Kenneth Tsang.
Tiao, a former international economist with the Clinton and Bush administrations, raised the funds for the $8 million project from private equity and has nearly 300 investors.
