Kate Whoriskey, helmer of Pulitzer Prize winner "Ruined" and recently named a.d. of Seattle's Intiman Theater, directs the 1959 play about Helen Keller and teacher Annie Sullivan.
David Richenthal, whose revival of "Finian's Rainbow" opens this week, produces.
Breslin, cast as the blind and deaf Keller, makes her Rialto debut in the show, as does Whoriskey. Starring as Sullivan, Pill ("In Treatment," "Milk") last appeared on Broadway in "Mauritius" in 2007.
William Gibson's drama has not played on the Main Stem since the 1959 preem that starred Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft and netted four Tonys, including one for play and another for lead actress Bancroft. Both Bancroft and Duke scored Oscars when they reprised their roles in the 1962 movie adaptation.
In recent years, a Broadway-bound production starring Hilary Swank was scuttled following its 2003 tryout in Charlotte, N.C.
Play's well-known true story, which takes place in Alabama in the 1880s, follows Sullivan's intrepid efforts to teach Keller to communicate.
Revival begins preview Feb. 12 ahead of a March 3 opening at Circle in the Square. Further casting remains to be announced.
