J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" took home the Hollywood Movie Award Monday at the Hollywood Film Festival's kudos ceremony Monday at the Beverly Hilton.
"Star Trek" was chosen by the public via an online poll.
A panel of judges chose "The White Ribbon" for the Hollywood World Award from among this year's foreign films.
Special honors for acting were handed out to Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Christoph Waltz, Julianne Moore, Jeremy Renner, Carey Mulligan, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Melanie Lynskey, Zachary Quinto, Paul Schneider, Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe plus Bradley Cooper for comedy. Nods also went to directors Kathryn Bigelow and Lee Daniels, producer Ryan Kavanaugh, Pete Docter's "Up" and screenwriters Nora Ephron, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber.
Composer Alexandre Desplat, cinematographer Roger Deakins, editor Dana Glauberman, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" vfx supervisor Scott Farrar, production designer Rick Carter and costume designer Colleen Atwood also received special honors from the fest.
