Taylor, Considine, Hawkins to star in comedy

LONDON -- Noah Taylor, Paddy Considine and Sally Hawkins have joined the cast of "Submarine," TV writer/director Richard Ayoade's feature debut.

The coming-of-age laffer, which is adapted from Joe Dunthorne's novel of the same name, also features Craig Roberts and Yasmin Paige.

Pic is produced by Warp Films in association with Red Hour Films. Producers are Andy Stebbing, Mark Herbert and Mary Burke.

It is backed by Film4, the U.K. Film Council's New Cinema Fund, Wales Creative IP Fund and Film Agency Wales.

Protagonist Pictures is handling international sales and Optimum Releasing will distribute the film in the U.K.

Ayoade co-created and directed Channel 4's spoof horror comedy skein "Garth Marenghi's Darkplace," in which he also appeared, and its sequel series "Man to Man With Dean Lerner."
