AmEx offers grant to theater org

Lower Manhattan Arts Leaders gets funds

American Express has presented a $100,000 grant to the Lower Manhattan Arts Leaders, a consortium of 11 downtown performance and arts orgs, in support of the group's Fall Downtown festival.

The neighborhood-boosting fest showcases free or low-cost arts events at orgs including Here Arts Center, Soho Rep, the Flea, Access Theater, Dixon Place and 3-Legged Dog.

The coin from American Express will be used to develop and promote Fall Downtown programming, which includes perfs of Taylor Mac's latest outing, "The Lily's Revenge," at Here and "The Oldsmobiles" at the Flea.

Fest kicked off in August and runs through Nov. 19.
