Broken Lizard comedy 'The Slammin' Salmon' will go out in December through Anchor Bay.
Anchor Bay Films has picked up comedy "The Slammin' Salmon" for U.S. theatrical release in December.
Distrib picked up all U.S., U.K. and Australia/New Zealand rights, while Comedy Central has the initial free TV window in the U.S.
Pic, the latest work from comedy troupe Broken Lizard, premiered at Slamdance earlier this year.
"Slammin' Salmon" concerns a former boxing champ-turned-restaurant owner who owes money to the Japanese mob and challenges his waiters to sell more food than ever in one night.
Lizard members Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske star alongside an ensemble cast that includes Michael Clarke Duncan, Will Forte, Lance Henriksen and Vivica A. Fox.
Heffernan helmed. Lizard's regular producer Richard Perello produced with Peter Lengyel, who also financed the film via his Arpad Prods.
Prior Lizard pics include Fox Searchlight's "Super Troopers" and Warner's "Beerfest." The group is currently on a 40-city sketch comedy tour.
Anchor Bay Films' recent theatrical releases include "Spread," starring Ashton Kutcher, and "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt," with Amber Tamblyn and Michael Douglas. Parent company Anchor Bay Entertainment is the homevid division of Starz Media.
