Tyne Daly set for 'Master Class'

Thesp will play Maria Callas in spring prod'n

Tyne Daly has signed to play the role of Maria Callas in the Kennedy Center's spring production of Terrence McNally's "Master Class."

Stephen Wadsworth will direct the production, running March 25-April 18 at the Eisenhower Theater as part of a five-week festival of McNally plays to run concurrently on three stages. The others are "The Lisbon Traviata," directed by Christopher Ashley and slated for March 20-April 11 in the Terrace Theater, and "Golden Age," a new play co-produced with the Philadelphia Theater Company and part of the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays. It will run March 12-April 4 in the Family Theater.

Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks, according to the center.
