The Volturi had “Twilight” fans in a tizzy at the Rome Film Festival for a 20-minute presentation of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” touted as the most extended sneak peek to date.

Three of the young thesps who play the Volturi, the ancient vampire rulers -- Cameron Bright, Jamie Campbell Bower and Charlie Bewley -- prowled the Rome Auditorium’s blood-red carpet on Thursday. (“New Moon” leads Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart did not make the trek.) The trio was followed by flag weavers from Volterra, the Tuscan town the Volturi hail from, prompting a paparazzi feeding frenzy.

Summit Entertainment shot “New Moon” in Tuscany and the medieval hamlet of Montepulciano.

The “New Moon” montage, prepared for the fest by helmer Chris Weitz, included an extended climactic reunion scene between Bella (Stewart) and Edward (Pattinson) only glimpsed on one of the released trailers, as well as some promotional backstage material.

The public screening was the fastest sellout event at the Eternal City extravaganza.

“New Moon” will preem in Hollywood on Nov. 16 before going wide Stateside on Nov. 20. It will bow in Italy Nov.18 via Eagle Pictures.

The Rome fest ends Friday.
