Bergeron to direct $42 million animated pic

"A Monster in Paris," which will feature the voice of Vanessa Paradis, is set at the turn of the 20th century. It follows a monster who lives in a garden and falls in love with a beautiful, young singer.

Project, aimed at international audiences, is set to be released in 2011, according to EuropaCorp co-founder Pierre-Ange Le Pogam.

The exec spoke to Daily Variety on Wednesday at London's Production Finance Market, where he delivered the keynote address.

The two-day confab, organized by Film London and held during the London Film Festival, brings together filmmakers and producers with sources of coin such as sales agents and financiers.

This year's attendees included Lionsgate, Summit Intl., Warner Bros. U.K., Paramount Pictures Intl., Hanway Films, Pathe, TF1 Intl., Optimum Releasing, Film4 and Ealing Studios Intl.
