Neil Patrick Harris clowns around at the opening night for Cirque du Soleil's 'Kooza.'
Cirque du Soleil's Kooza show premiered Friday in Santa Monica, drawing just about every Westside VIP and their kids.
Pierce Brosnan and his brood of all ages sat in the front row, as did
Dylan McDermott and his little ones. Some, as is customary with Cirque performances, were subjected to the show's pranksters. The McDermott clan narrowly escaped being "sprinkled" on by Kooza's unruly dog.
Jon Favreau got frisked by the show's pickpocket. And
Neil Patrick Harris got clubbed over the head by a fake piece of meat.
La Soiree, the show's post party on the pier, benefited two water-related charities, Heal the Bay and Cirque founder
Guy Laliberte's One Drop foundation. Among the revelers were CAA's
Richard Lovett; producers
Lauren Shuler Donner, Richard Donner and
David Permut; plus thesps
Owen Wilson,
Amy Smart,
Geena Davis,
Heather Graham and
Kevin Dillon.
The lavish bash, hosted by Audemars Piguet, went all out. Champagne flowed and eats abounded from more than a dozen area restaurants, including the Little Door, Sushi Roku and Boa Steakhouse.
