Axelrod, who joined the full-service entertainment company four months ago as COO, has spearheaded an overall restructuring of AECG. Axelrod's promotion coincides with president and CEO Ett taking on the title of chairman and CEO.
The company has begun to expand its presence in the music and TV spheres and recently launched two subsidiaries: AECG Entertainment and AECG Branding. Last month, AECG inked a deal to administer the ARC catalog -- which includes the music of Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley.
On the TV front, AECG Entertainment is developing a number of projects including the telepic "We'll Give It a Year" as a Kim Delaney starring vehicle and the comedy series "Keep Your Skirt On," which is based on a book of advice columns by Santa Barbara writer Starshine Roshell. AECG Entertainment is also in pre-production on the half-hour animated gameshow "Bizarro" for GSN.
AECG, which was founded in 1991, is made up of several companies including the audio post facility Media City Sound, composing/scoring firm the Music Collective, Opus 1 Music Library and Opus 19, which administers assets for Fuji TV.
AECG, a private company, is owned by Ett and Fuji TV.
