Without Bravo television, Monday's premiere of Nelson McCormick's "The Stepfather" might never have happened.

"I was watching this Bravo special on the 100 greatest horror films ever made and the one movie on the entire list that I had never heard of was a 1987 thriller called "The Stepfather,'�" said Greg Mooradian, producer of the Sony release. "So I watched it and in a strange way I felt like the original was ahead of itself and now would be a better time to deliver it."

"Nip/Tuck" star Dylan Walsh took over the title role originated by "Lost" thesp Terry O'Quinn.

McCormick said his one regret during filming was not being able to bring O'Quinn in for a cameo.

"There was a perfect spot for him late in the movie," the helmer said. "But we just couldn't work out the scheduling."
