The Jim Henson Co. used the real-time animation system to deliver a special 30-minute, vaccination-themed episode of "Sid the Science Kid" in record time.
Jim Henson Co. CEO Lisa Henson told Daily Variety that making an episode of "Sid" usually takes six months, but in this case "from greenlight to delivery, it was six weeks."
Spesh will bow on PBS Kids on Oct. 26 and receive a prominent spot in the net's rotation.
Funding for the episode comes in part from the Dept. of Health and Human Services, the first time the federal agency has funded an episode of "Sid."
