"Everybody's Fine," starring Robert De Niro, will make its world preem at the AFI Fest 2009 on Nov. 3 at Grauman's Chinese Theater.

Pic follows a widower, played by De Niro, who embarks on a road trip to reconnect with his children after realizing his only connection to them was through his wife.

The festival has also announced its selections for this year's New Lights Competition, which honors first- and second-time filmmakers. The recipients include Oren Moverman's "The Messenger," with Woody Harrelson, and Andrea Arnold's "Fish Tank."

The AFI fest begins Oct. 30 and runs through Nov. 7.
