Pair 'Present' at Coward revival

Harris, Ashmanskas join Roundabout production

Harriet Harris and Brooks Ashmanskas will join Victor Garber in the Roundabout Theater Company's Broadway revival of Noel Coward's "Present Laughter," opening Jan. 21 at the American Airlines Theater.

In Nicholas Martin's production, first seen at Boston's Huntington Theater Company in 2007, Garber plays self-absorbed matinee idol Garry Essendine, whose preparations for a tour to Africa devolve into chaos. Harris will play his unflappable secretary, with Ashmanskas as a deranged aspiring playwright.

Completing the cast are Lisa Banes, Nancy E. Carroll, Alice Duffy, Holley Fain, Pamela Jane Gray, James Joseph O'Neil, Richard Poe and Marc Vietor. Previews begin Jan. 2.
