Hodge to reprise role in 'La Cage'

Thesp set for five-week engagement in London

Prior to starting rehearsals for the Broadway transfer of "La Cage aux Folles," Douglas Hodge will reprise his Olivier-winning role as tantrum-prone drag queen Albin in the hit London revival for a five-week engagement starting Nov. 30.

Terry Johnson's intimate production of Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein's 1983 musical premiered at the Menier Chocolate Factory before moving to the West End, where it has been playing for the past year. The Broadway run starts previewing April 6 for an April 18 opening at the Longacre. Lead producer on the transfer is Sonia Friedman.
