The untitled multicamera half-hour will be penned by scribe Laura House ("George Lopez") and exec produced by Sonnenfeld and Stu Bloomberg. Sonnenfeld will also helm the project, which has a script commitment, if it is ordered to pilot.
On paper, the show sounds reminiscent of the Stephen J. Cannell-produced dramedy "The Greatest American Hero," which aired on ABC from 1981-83.
Sonnenfeld has been a regular presence at ABC in the past few seasons. He was exec producer and helmer of the Alphabet's critical fave "Pushing Daisies," and he was exec producer-helmer on laffer "Notes From the Underbelly" in the 2007-08 season.
