Numbers double at 3D confab

Attendance at Entertainment Summit hit 500

Attendance at the Sept. 16-17 3D Entertainment Summit hit 500, or double the number at the 2008 event, according to final figures that will be released today.

The gathering, co-produced by Bob Dowling and Unicomm in association with Variety, and presented by the Entertainment Technology Center @ USC, also saw sponsorship double, including Sony Digital, Sony Electronics, Real D, 3ality, DreamWorks, Panasonic and Imax.

Speakers and panelists at the Universal City Hilton included filmmaker Henry Selick, effects supervisor Brian Van't Hul, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Dowling and Daily Variety features editor David Cohen.
