Shine signs deal for 'Archer'

FX show set to launch in January

Shine Intl. has sealed a deal for the international distribution rights to FX's upcoming animated comedy "Archer."

Show, which received a sneak preview last week on the cabler, is set to launch in January. FX has ordered six episodes of "Archer," which comes from FX Prods. and creator Adam Reed.

Shine Intl. prexy Chris Grant said the series is part of a concerted effort by the company to expand beyond programming from the Shine Group's Reveille, Kudos, Dragonfly, Princess Prods. and Metronome labels to offerings from third-party producers.

"Archer," a sendup of spy thrillers, stars Jon Benjamin as the voice of master spy Sterling Archer. Jessica Walter, Aisha Tyler, Chris Parnell and Judy Greer also lend their voices to the show.
