Poul, who served as exec producer on HBO's "Six Feet Under," received DGA and Emmy nominations in 2003 for his direction on the episode "Nobody Sleeps." He also produced ABC's "My So-Called Life" and the Emmy-winning docu series "The Pacific Century."
Jim Murphy, VP of business affairs for Clear Channel, will accept the award on behalf of the radio conglom. Murphy recently completed a seven-year stint on the board of directors of AIDS Project Los Angeles.
Co-sponsored by the UCLA Film and Television Archive, the event serves as a fund-raiser for the Outfest Legacy Project for LGBT film preservation and will preem the restored film "Queens at Heart."
Hosted by Bruce Vilanch, gala will be held Sept. 30 at the Directors Guild of America.
