Pic, about a terminally ill woman who falls for her doctor, is set to go into production on Jan. 18.
Nicole Kassell ("The Woodsman") helms Gren Wells' script.
Producers are John Davis, Mark Gill, Robert Katz and Adam Schroeder; Neil Sacker and Michael Goguen exec produce.
"Earthbound" will be fully financed by Gill and Sacker's the Film Department, which will also handle international sales.
Bernal ("Y tu mama tambien," "Motorcycle Diaries") also stars in Gary Winick's upcoming "Letters to Juliet" with Amanda Seyfried. Hudson's next pic to be released is Rob Marshall musical "Nine," going out Nov. 25.
Film Department thriller "Law Abiding Citizen," with Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx, bows via Overture on Oct. 16.
