The deal comes in one of the world's toughest movie markets. It adds to a bevy of licensing pacts for "Heart," which Lionsgate has acquired for North America in a deal announced last month.
Company's sales agent, FilmSharks Intl., has also closed deals for Spain (Wanda), Australia (SBS), India (CA) and Taiwan (Swallow Wings).
Written and directed by Roberto Sneider ("Frida"), "Heart," a romantic meller set in post-Revolution '30s and '40s Mexico, made the semi-final nine-film cut this year for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' foreign-language award.
Distribbed in Latin America by Fox, it has notched up 2.6 million admissions to date in the region.
