Cabler has greenlit "Amanpour" to be telecast several times a week on the cabler's international channel and on Stateside CNN at 2 p.m. ET Sundays. Program debuts Sept. 21 on CNN Intl. and Sept. 27 in the U.S.
Amanpour will chat with political and cultural leaders from around the globe in the half-hour series.
Among her high-profile interviews in the past few years, Amanpour, who began at CNN in 1983, has discussed events of the day with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Dalai Lama and President Clinton.
She was a contributor to CBS newsmagazine "60 Minutes" from 1996-2005.
