Writer answers 'Doctor's' call

Curtis to write episode of sci-fi fave

LONDON -- British screenwriter Richard Curtis has agreed to write an episode of sci-fi fave "Doctor Who" to "impress his children."

Curtis, best known for romantic comedies "Notting Hill," "Love Actually" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral," will script one of the episodes featuring the new Time Lord, actor Matt Smith, who takes over from David Tennant next year.

Curtis, who created classic sitcom "Blackadder," starring Rowan Atkinson, was tight-lipped regarding the storyline. "There will be a monster. And a famous historical figure will battle the monster," was all he would tell local press. "It's tremendously good fun and a treat for my children."
