BBC Worldwide taps Matt Pritchard

Former ITV exec to head development

LONDON -- BBC Worldwide has tapped ex-ITV exec Matt Pritchard as head of development, charged with identifying format ideas for production in overseas markets including the U.S., France, Australia and India.

Pritchard will lead a team tasked with raising revenues generated from Worldwide's format business by sizing up local demand and developing original productions internationally.

Previous hits devised by the development team include "The Great American Road Trip," which recently aired on NBC.

Pritchard reports to Gareth Williams, director of new programs.

Previously Pritchard worked for ITV Studios as a senior development producer.
