Swain and Sossamon join Cliff De Young, John Diehl, Waylon Payne and Tygh Runyan in the noirish tale of a young filmmaker who becomes enmeshed in a criminal scheme while making a movie on location.
Swain plays an investigative blogger who uncovers the supposedly true crime story that the film is based on. Sossamon plays the femme fatale at the center of the story.
"Nowhere," now lensing in Los Angeles, marks Hellman's first feature in nearly 20 years. Helmer is known for the cult-fave 1971 road pic "Two Lane Blacktop." His most recent work was the "Stanley's Girlfriend" segment of the 2006 omnibus horror movie "Trapped Ashes."
"Nowhere" was penned by Variety executive editor Steven Gaydos, who previously co-wrote Hellman's pics "Iguana" and "Better Watch Out."
Swain is known for such pics as Adrian Lyne's "Lolita," "Face/Off" and "Alpha Dog." Sossamon's credits include "A Knight's Tale," "40 Days and 40 Nights" and the upcoming HBO series "How to Make It in America."
