Repped by Gallic sales company Wide Management, the doc deals with the health issues caused by industrial and agro-chemical pollution. The film has been picked up by several European distributors.
First Run is planning a theatrical release Stateside next summer followed by a DVD release in the fall.
Wide has also sold doc “Two in the Wave,” which celebrates the French New Wave’s anniversary, to Japanese shingle Cetera Intl. for all rights. Film was selected for this year’s Cannes Classics section.
Japan’s Fine Films took theatrical and DVD rights to another Wide title, Stefano Salvati’s teenage comedy “Albakiara.” Pic is produced by Italy’s Mikado Film.
Wide has recently acquired several Venice and Toronto festival titles. These include Patric Chiha’s “Domaine,” which will preem in Venice Critics’ Week. It stars Beatrice Dalle (“Inside”) as a 40-year-old woman battling alcoholism.
The Gallic shingle has also taken Finnish helmer Mika Kaurismaki’s satirical divorce comedy “The House of Branching Love” and Asli Ozge’s directorial debut “Men on the Bridge,” about three Istanbul residents whose lives intersect on the Bosphorus Bridge connecting Europe with Asia.
Both films will preem in Toronto’s Contemporary World Cinema section.
