Lansbury to celebrate Bea Arthur

Actress will host tribute at Majestic Theater

Angela Lansbury will host "Celebrating Bea Arthur," a tribute to the late actress to be held later this month at Broadway's Majestic Theater, home of "The Phantom of the Opera."

Producer Norman Lear, lyricist Sheldon Harnick and thesps Adrienne Barbeau, Zoe Caldwell, Chita Rivera and Rue McClanahan are among the people who will perform or offer remembrances of Arthur, as will Arthur's longtime accompanist Billy Goldenberg and Rialto producer Daryl Roth ("Bea Arthur on Broadway").

Arthur, whose stage stints included "The Threepenny Opera," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Mame" and "Bea Arthur on Broadway," died April 25.

Directed by Mark Waldrop, the afternoon event is set for Sept. 14. Public will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
