Appointments were announced Tuesday by HBO Entertainment topper Sue Naegle.
Bloys will oversee development and production for HBO's half-hour scripted comedies; most recently, he developed new series "Hung" and the upcoming laffer "Bored to Death."
"It's hard to imagine HBO's comedy department without his guidance and leadership," Naegle said of Bloys.
Bloys' credits also include developing "Flight of the Conchords" and "Eastbound and Down," among other series. He's been with HBO since 2004, joining as director of development at HBO Independent Prods.
Under Bloys are HBO Entertainment VP Nina Rosenstein, who's based on the East Coast, and comedy development director Amy Gravitt.
As for Diaz, the exec will handle drama development and production for HBO. She most recently served as VP of primetime drama series and development at ABC, where she worked on shows including "Lost" and "Pushing Daisies." Her credits also include a stint at ICM.
Naegle called Diaz a "great fit for HBO's commitment to unique and innovative programming."
