Rea and Sean McGinley will star in the latest Sam Shepard play, two-hander "Ages of the Moon," bowing at the Atlantic in January. The two actors reprise the roles they played in the show's world preem at Ireland's Abbey Theater, with that staging's helmer, Jimmy Fay, onboard to direct in Gotham as well.
Plot follows a reunion of two old friends that quickly turns dangerous.
Buffini joins the Atlantic lineup with her 1997 play "Gabriel," a WWII tale about a mysterious man who washes ashore on a beach on a German-occupied Channel Island. Scribe also penned 2002 play "Dinner," which recently had its U.S. preem in a Long Island production toplined by Mercedes Ruehl.
"Gabriel," the final show of the Atlantic's mainstage season, will begin previews in April and open in May, with exact dates to be determined.
Atlantic's season kicks off in September with a double bill of short plays by David Mamet.
