According to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, NBC won the night on the strength of its two-hour "America's Got Talent" (3.4 rating/10 share in adults 18-49, 12.5 million viewers overall), which was down slightly week to week but still dominated from 9 to 11. The net was also competitive in the night's opening hour with a recap of the previous week's "Talent" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall).
Fox ruled Tuesday's leadoff hour in demos with "Hell's Kitchen" (3.1/10 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall), which was also down slightly week to week, and then placed third in the 9 o'clock hour with dating show "More to Love" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall).
CBS was strong from 8 to 10 p.m. with a repeat of "NCIS" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall) and "Big Brother" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) but again dropped sharply at 10 p.m. with crime drama "Medium" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall).
ABC had a very quiet night, starting with lowest-yet scores for its 11-night run of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) and the season finale of comedy "Better Off Ted" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall). Closing things out was newsmag "Primetime: The Outsiders" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall).
