Katalyst taps Bruna Papandrea

The Australian native had been president of Michael London's production and financing banner Groundswell since its 2006 launch and produced "Smart People," "The Marc Pease Experience" and the upcoming "All Good Things" starring Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst and Frank Langella. She also exec produced "Milk" and "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh" along with starting her own Make Movies shingle earlier this year.
Sony-based Katalyst is in post-production on Kutcher-Katherine Heigl starrer "Killers," due to be released in June by Lionsgate. Anchor Bay's releasing the banner's comedy "Spread," with Kutcher and Anne Heche, on Aug. 14.
"We've been pretty focused on TV at Katalyst, so hiring Bruna is going to make it possible for us to pay more attention to developing high-quality independent and studio films that have global appeal," said Katalyst partner Jason Goldberg.
Papandrea began her career as a film and commercials producer in Australia, where she produced Jonathan Teplitzky's "Better Than Sex." She subsequently worked as a producer at Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack's Mirage Enterprises and oversaw Phillip Noyce's "The Quiet American." As creative director at GreeneStreet Films, she developed the upcoming "Invisible Woman," written and to be directed by Matt Reeves, and John Polson's "Tenderness."
