Ferrell, Dobkin depart 'Neighborhood'

Duo were attached to the comedy in the spring

Will Ferrell and director David Dobkin have departed 20th Century Fox's "Neighborhood Watch."

The duo were attached to the comedy in the spring, and Dobkin had recently submitted revisions to Jared Stern's script.

Pic centers on an urbanite's journey as he moves to a suburban community, joins the neighborhood watch and uncovers a large conspiracy. Shawn Levy is producing with Tom McNulty through their Fox-based 21 Laps shingle.

Dobkin, who most recently helmed "Fred Claus," directed the box office hit "Wedding Crashers," in which Ferrell made a cameo appearance.
