In addition, Ron Livingston, LL Cool J and Josh Lucas are among a 12-person cast that will voice the individual war stories depicted in the series. "WWII" will marry those diary-style monologues with interviews and color archival footage that has been upgraded though advanced high-def technology.
Justin Bartha, Rob Corddry, Tim DeKay, Mark Hefti, James Kyson Lee, Jason Ritter, Amy Smart and Steve Zahn are also contributing voice work to the production.
While ambitious in its own right, "WWII" serves as a prelude to "America: The Story of Us," a 12-part pilgrims-to-President Obama history of the country that History plans to premiere in Spring 2010. History will also unveil "The People Speak," an Matt Damon-spearheaded adaptation of the Howard Zinn book "A People's History of the United States," in the fourth quarter of this year.
Matthew Ginsberg is exec producing "WWII," in coordination with Lou Reda and Scott Reda of Lou Read Prods.
