U.K.'s Five takes 'FlashForward'

Series stars Joseph Fiennes, Jack Davenport

LONDON — U.K. broadcaster Five has acquired Disney-ABC-ESPN TV's new drama "FlashForward," starring Joseph Fiennes and Jack Davenport.

The deal sees Five take exclusive terrestrial and digital rights for its Fiver and Fiver USA channels.

The buzzy skein takes place after a mysterious event causes the entire world to suffer a brief blackout and everyone sees a vision of their own future in six months' time on a specific date.

David S. Goyer ("Batman Begins") is the show's exec producer, writer and director. Brannon Braga ("24") also gets an exec producer and co-writer credit.

Other exec producers are Marc Guggenheim, Jessika Goyer, Vince Gerardis and Ralph Vicinanza. Guggenheim will be the showrunner, along with Goyer.

"FlashForward" bows in the U.S. on ABC on Sept. 24.
