Syfy announces fall schedule

Network readies 'Stargate' series; 'Corn' remake

Recently rechristened cabler Syfy has set its fall slate, with the two-hour series premiere of "Stargate Universe" airing Friday, Oct. 2, at 9 p.m.

NBC Universal-owned net has also skedded telepics including "Open Graves," featuring "Dollhouse" star Eliza Dushku, and a remake of Stephen King horrorfest "Children of the Corn."

Debuting helmer Alvaro de Arminan's indie horror pic "Graves" is now set for a Sept. 9 premiere on Syfy; movie had been seeking distribution since 2006 and finally found it with Voltage Pictures.

"Children," set for a Sept. 26 airdate, features "Battlestar Galactica" vet Kandyse McClure and sports a teleplay co-written by King himself with helmer Donald P. Borchers.

Reality series "Destination Truth" has been renewed for a third season, airing at 9 on Wednesdays starting Sept. 9, and "Sanctuary" will return for a second season on Friday, Oct. 9, at 10, making it the first online-to-small screen transition to survive its first season.

"Scare Tactics" will be back on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 9 p.m., and "Ghost Hunters" will continue Wednesdays at 9 p.m. with an October guest spot by rocker Meat Loaf.
