'Bloomberg' being adapted for animation

New Core, Silver Lining partner on project

"Smoking Bloomberg," the tuner satire that had an Off Broadway run 2006, is being adapted for animation.

New Core Prods. and Silver Lining Film Group have partnered to develop the property for animation, with the producers exploring more than one media platform for the project.

Created by David Cornue, Sam Holtzapple, Warren Loy and Chris Todd, "Smoking Bloomberg" follows a Korean dry cleaner who hopes to overturn the 2003 smoking ban championed by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

Consultancy group ThinkTank Emporium also will contribute to the animated venture, for which no voice talent has yet been confirmed.
